Yoga at Ismini Phillips Studios, Tonbridge

If you have never been to a yoga class with me before, I wanted to introduce you to the Studio's on Tonbridge High Street, so you will fell comfortable when you arrive.


First of all know that you will always receive a warm welcome and whatever you ability, you are perfect just as you are and will be looked after.


The studios are fully equipped with everything you need, so you just need to turn up in comfortable clothing.


Here's a few photos of the studio including entrance so you know what you are looking for, the entrance way and then there are stairs or a lift for your convenience to come up to the studios themselves.


As you can see the studios are bright and clean and also lovely and warm with adjustable lighting to get the mood just right for your class. There are changing facilities for both Men and Women (where you will also leave your shoes) and toilets. Valuables can be taken directly into the studios where you can keep them safe.


We have the lovely Louise on reception who will welcome you and if you want to stop for a herbal tea, coffee or snack after, then it's all here for you to enjoy.



There is even a small retail area to pick up your latest yoga or pilates purchase. In addition there is a therapists room where you can enjoy a massage. I even meet clients there for private nutrition consultations in the meeting room and run workshops there for Women through Unstoppable Energy.

If you would love to come in the daytime but your little's one are with you at home, there is a creche very nearby in The Angel Centre that some of our Clients use.


Ismini's timetable is jam packed full of Pilates classes for all abilities, as well as bootybarre classes and latin vibes if you want something more up tempo and area specific!


I throughly enjoyed the Pilates class I joined in and it left me aching, in a good way, for days. For me though, yoga is my first love, I have been a student of the practice for over a decade and am now sharing that practice by way of teaching.


I've suffered from life long back pain and yoga helps to keep all of that at bay, by keeping my spine flexible and my core and legs strong, which helps to support your back. Due to this experience and my nutrition training I get it if your health or fitness isn't at it's peak. You still want to exercise but you want to do it in a gentle way, well in yoga we work on the mind and body connection so you tune in and pay attention.


The relaxation towards the end of class is an important component to let everything you have learned integrate into your body but also learn how to switch off, slow down and relax. I also teach breath work which helps to calm the nervous system for anyone that is feeling stressed.

Parking is ample in Sainbury's Carpark and just before you cut through the Pavilion that heads to The High Street, the Studio's are right there next to Sussex beds centre.


If you are feeling nervous at all, drop me a message with any questions and I'll put you at ease but more than anything just come and try. I think you will enjoy the benefits of calming the body and mind, strengthening and lengthening your muscles, working to open up that slouched computer posture and the connection you will make with likeminded friends.
